Jean is an accomplished General Manager, Executive Coach, and Strategic Advisor working with C-level executives, senior leadership teams, and organizations based in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She specializes in international work with leaders working for multi-national organizations, seeking to enhance their business performance, professional development and personal fulfillment. Some of her corporate and private clients include executives within Novartis, Allianz, Amazon, Amway, Airbus, BSI, General Electric, Siemens, Philips, VIZRT (Nordic Capital), and IDC as well as smaller private global organizations and entrepreneurs.
Jean comes with over 30 years of experience working internationally in the Life Sciences, Financial Services, Industrial and Technology sectors. Prior to establishing The Executive Hat in 2009, she has served as the business leader for a global business within GE Healthcare based in Paris, Senior Vice President at Small Business Solutions Japan for GE Capital Services, and served as Business Leader for Oncology at BrainLAB, a private global business operating out of Munich. She has worked on three venture start-ups, two major international acquisitions, a business divestiture and reverse merger. Additionally, she has served as a public spokesperson for media events and is experienced in crisis management communications. Throughout her professional career, Jean has focused on the Strategic Human Capital aspect of business, including Top Talent Acquisition, Assessment, Coaching, and Development. She has also served over 30 years as a facilitator, coach and mentor in Business Transformations and has coached senior national executives through difficult business restructuring efforts and acquisition integrations. In these significant events, very experienced leaders who are successful in their own right have found themselves struggling to cope with their situation despite all past successes. Additionally, she has coached top talent change agents and their business champions in well over 300 business re-engineering and change efforts across GE. Jean is also passionate about supporting the development of women in leadership positions. She has served as an active mentor in GE’s Women Network and in every business she has led. Her natural style, business experience, coaching and facilitative skills have brought more to all these individual leaders than technical skills alone. She has enabled them to tap into their own particular strengths, increase awareness, and then develop behaviors and habits to increase their personal impact, influence skills and ability to lead when facing the toughest resistance to change. Through The Executive Hat, Jean brings the value of her diverse business and life experiences in the global arena together with her coaching skills to executives as they seek to challenge themselves in their own journey of development. She is a graduate of Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, has attended the Kellogg School of Management Executive Program in Strategic Marketing, and the GE Leadership Development Program. She has completed her ICF Accredited Coach Training with Coaching Development in London. She is certified as a Master Black Belt, Change Management Coach and Facilitator, and she is also an instructor for these disciplines. THE EXECUTIVE HAT Jean T.F. Hooks |
